Nature Elementals.
Nature Elementals brings attention to the four elements of nature—earth, air, fire, and water—within the early childhood education environment. A vast body of research supports the importance of nature connection for the developing mind and body. Through various programs, Glenn Wagland (CEO and founder of Mobile Junk and Nature Playground, and Nature Elementals) supports children’s awareness and understanding of the ‘wonder-full’ natural environments around them.

Glenn has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and has worked in the profession since 2001. While he is known throughout South Australia as an advocate for outdoor loose parts play (AKA “Glenn the Junk Man”), nature connection is his true passion.
Drawing on current research, classic child development theorists, and over 20 years of professional experience in environments rich in nature-based outdoor education, Glenn has mentored thousands of children in the art of connecting with nature.

Telling stories has always been a part of the nature connection experience. Stories that explore our interaction with nature, and natures interaction with us, have been at the forefront. The first books were self published in 2014, and were created to be an extension of the outdoor play, and nature connection experience. The common theme of all books are caring and making sense of our natural world. The latest series of books were created after years of retelling personal nature stories to thousands of kids.
